Explanation:

After that in keydown event I called the below javascript code to get the keycode and alert it to the user. The below javascript is used to get the keycode and alert it to the user.

<script type="text/javascript">
    $("#txttest").keydown(function (e) {
        //if (e.keyCode == 32) return 109;
        alert(e.keyCode);
    });
</script>

Complete html code is given below.
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="_Default" %>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head runat="server">
    <title></title>
</head>
<body>
    <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.7.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <form id="form1" runat="server">
    <div>
        <input id="txttest" type="text" />
    </div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
        $("#txttest").keydown(function (e) {
            //if (e.keyCode == 32) return 109;
            alert(e.keyCode);
        });
    </script>
    </form>
</body>
</html>
